The Lady Panthers continued their Region 19 Action last week in a duo of home matches that both ended in defeat for the home team.
Facing off first against Green River on Wednesday, the Lady Panthers faced a rocky start, ending the first half 19-11. Pinnacle managed a high of eight points in the second and third quarters but couldn’t ever find the basket enough to put up a victory and walked away with a 41-21 loss.
The second crushing defeat for Pinnacle came on Friday as the team went up against the Monticello Buckaroos and were handed a 66-8 loss.
Starting out slow, Pinnacle ended the first half 38-2. Monticello continued to dominate in the third, where Pinnacle managed a game-high six. Pinnacle lost steam in the fourth, not putting up any points and giving up the victory to Monticello.
Stephanie Sasser led her team throughout the week, putting up a combined 13 in the two matches and netting a three in the latter of the two. Bobbie Syrett was behind, notching five in the faceoff against Green River.
The Lady Panthers’ final chance at a region victory will come this weekend as the team hosts Monument Valley on Saturday. Varsity action is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
