Pinnacle hosted Merit Academy on Friday and the Lady Panthers dominated the Lady Knights in the first half by surrendering only one and four points in the first and second quarters, respectively. Coming out of halftime with a 22-5 lead, Pinnacle kept Merit at bay to win their first game of the year, 35-23.
“We set the tone of the game from the very start with a full court press and they struggled to recover,” said head coach Mark Stuckenschneider.
Junior Stephanie Sasser put up mind-blowing numbers with a double-double, scoring 28 of the team’s 35 points and pulling down 19 rebounds in the game.
“Steph dominated the paint and the boards,” said Stuckenschneider.
Pinnacle is on the road this week and heads to Provo to take on Freedom Prep on Monday, Dec. 3 and then plays St. Joseph in Ogden on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
