After taking the rivalry game against Pinnacle, Green River struggled to finish the week well. The Lady Pirates were at Tabiona on Friday and the Lady Tigers took it to Green River with a 3-0 sweep. Tabiona won 25-11, 25-18 and 25-18.
Then, on Saturday, Green River played a tough match against Monument Valley at home. The Lady Pirates were able to narrowly defeat the Lady Cougars in the first set 27-25. Monument Valley took the next two sets 25-19 and 25-16. Green River responded with a must-win fourth set 25-16 to force a fifth set. In the deciding set, Monument Valley did enough to get the 15-7 win to take the 3-2 victory.
The Lady Pirates (7-4, 3-1 Region 19) will be in Moab on Tuesday to play Grand (12-4, 4-2 Region 12). Then they will travel to face Whitehorse (3-5, 0-2 Region 19) on Thursday.
