Having won five of their previous six games going into the 1A Tournament, the Green River Lady Pirates were defeated in the first round and again in the consolation bracket last week to end the season.
First up was a matchup against Region 20’s Valley on Wednesday. Presley Lovato scored a team-high nine points in the game, but unfortunately the team could only muster 23 total points in the game to Valley’s 44.
Green River then squared off against Milford on Thursday, losing to the Region 20 team 58-26. Maribel Escalante nailed three threes to get into double figures with 10 points. Savannah Williams chipped in seven.
Green River finishes the season with an 8-15 record, including a 6-2 mark in Region 19 action.
