The Emery Lady Spartans plated 13 runs in the first inning and cruised to the 19-5 win over the Altamont Longhorns Wednesday afternoon in non-region action.
Emery’s 20 hits in the game were a season high, as were the 19 runs it scored. Eleven players notched at least one RBI in the game, led by Adri Childs and Braileigh Clark who each had three RBIs to go with three hits apiece. Clark also went all five innings on the mound, allowing three earned runs on four hits. She struck out five batters as well.
Emery (7-4, 0-1 2A East) will host Grand (3-4, 1-0 2A East) this Thursday. The Red Devils beat the Lady Spartans 11-4 on March 20.
