There was a late game added to the Spartans’ schedule that featured Cedar Valley in the Spartan Center on Wednesday night. Emery was ready to go and exploded out of the gates with 20 points in the first quarter. The Lady Aviators would not back down and managed to stay with the Spartans by putting up 17 points in that span.
Defense played a bigger role for both teams in the second period, but Emery still held the upper hand, 33-29, by halftime. Once more, Emery came out firing to start the half with another 20-point quarter. The Spartans used the offensive effort to their advantage and went up by 12. They continued to control the game and went on to win 63-54.
Tambrie Tuttle had a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Baylee Jacobson also tallied 21 points in the victory.
