The fourth-ranked Emery Lady Spartans faced little resistance Thursday night in their win against the San Juan Broncos, claiming a big 55-29 win to remain perfect in Region 15 play.

Emery exploded in the first quarter, jumping out to a 21-4 lead after one quarter of play. Freshman Lainee Jensen nailed a three pointer at the buzzer to get Emery a 17-point lead. It was the first time all year the Lady Spartans had scored 20-plus points in the first quarter.

San Juan responded in the second quarter with a 9-2 run to get within 30-18, but Emery extended its lead to 15, 33-18, when Ashton Bell hit one of her three 3-pointers with seconds left in the half.

Three free throws by Camrey Johnson and a layup for Cassidy Labrum to end the third saw the Lady Spartans extend their lead to 45-25 after three.

Emery would see its second largest lead of the game, 50-25, at the 5:15 mark of the fourth and would cruise to the win.

Bell finished the night with 14 points, her second highest offensive output of the season. Bailey Rasmussen grabbed 11 boards and scored 10 points. Emily Olsen poured in 13 on the night, including three 3-pointers. Johnson finished with nine points on the night. The Lady Spartans hit eight 3-pointers in the game, matching a season high.

Emery (10-4, 6-0 Region 15) will face its toughest test so far this season with a road matchup with North Sevier (11-6, 4-2 Region 15) on Tuesday. The Lady Spartans upended the Lady Wolves, 49-47, on Jan 13 in Castle Dale.
