The second season of the Lady Spartan soccer team began last Thursday against Provo. The team was outmatched and suffered an 8-0 loss in the opening game, which saw the Lady Spartans trailing 4-0 at the half.
The second half didn’t show any progress for the Lady Spartans and the game was called by the mercy rule, ending the game in Provo’s favor, 8-0. The Lady Spartans then looked to rebound on Tuesday as they traveled to take on the Juab Wasps.
The Lady Spartans stepped up defensively in the matchup but recorded their second loss of the season. The Lady Spartans lost 3-0, starting the young season at 0-2.
The Lady Spartans will play high-ranking opponents this season, and will hope to secure their first victory on Thursday in a home matchup against the Union Cougars, who have lost four consecutive games.
