Emery and South Sevier met up on Tuesday for a double header. The Lady Spartans were the designated away team in the first game, and went up 6-0 after two innings. The teams traded runs the next couple innings as the Lady Rams tried to keep it close. Up 10-6 in the sixth, the Spartans opened it up with eight unanswered runs in the final two innings to take game one, 18-6.
Four different Spartans went deep in this one including, Cambrie Jensen, Tylee Norton, Janessa Weston and Bralin Wilde. It was Shyanne Jensen, however, that lead the team with four RBIs. Madisyn Childs and Jensen combined from the circle to last seven innings, only allowing two earned runs.
Game two was even more lopsided. South Sevier grabbed two early runs, but Emery responded with 13 unanswered to take control. Taleigh Price walked things off with a single in the fifth as Emery swept the doubleheader 14-4.
Norton and Wilde went deep for the second time on the day as Arilyn Allred and Price each added a homer. The Lady Spartans combined for 16 hits in the outing, spreading out the attack. Emery (11-6-1, 3-2) will end the week against San Juan (4-12, 3-5) on Friday in Huntington.
