Leif Nelson recently announced his resignation as Price City councilman. The announcement was made at the council meeting on Wednesday evening.
“Family is the first priority in my life and duty calls,” explained Nelson. “I’d like to thank the council for working alongside me over the last year.”
Nelson was sworn into the Price City Council in July of last year, filling the vacant seat left by former councilman Wayne Clausing. During his time as city councilman, Nelson oversaw the planning and zoning board as well as the USU planning commission, and was the 2018 International Days Chair Elect.
Mayor Michael Kourianos presented Nelson with a plaque for his commitment to not only the council, but to his community. “Just because you’re moving out of city limits doesn’t exclude you in any efforts to make our community a better place,” said Kourianos.
Price City will be looking to fill the midterm vacancy beginning in August.
