The Carbon Girl’s Basketball team seems to reload year after year. Still a few years off, another group of young Lady Dinos will be waiting to take the team to the playoffs.
Two traveling basketball teams from Carbon County won championships this month in two grade divisions.
A seventh-grade team made up of Delaney Cisneros, Aubrey Fausett, McKenzie Griffeth, Maggie Powell, Miranda Blanton, Cali Fossat, Kelsey Sorensen, and Meagan Mower beat Richfield for the seventh grade title and was coached by Bob Fossat and Jeff Cisneros.
The eighth-grade team consisting of Chandelle Nichols, Taylor Passarella, Lindsey Blanc, Makayla Lupo, Shy Salazar, McKenna Sorensen, Jessica Jensen, Paige Haeck, and Cyenne Bigelow beat Emery for the championship and was coached by Gary Haeck and Jeff Blanc.
The league was based out of Richfield and included teams ranging from North Sanpete to Cedar City. The league started in February and ended in mid April.
