Realtors from the local area as well as from throughout Utah have rallied to find funds to aid flood victims.
Karen Martino-Basso from Trails End Realty is spearheading the efforts and recently applied for a Utah Association for Realtors Housing Opportunity Fund (UARHOF) grant. If awarded, the grant goes into a 501C3 nonprofit fund. Then, the Carbon Emery Board of Realtors Flood Relief Committee will handle the funds to assist with flood relief.
Martino-Basso, who has been working closely with the Utah Association of Realtors, explained that the process is in the early stages and is a work in progress.
“We are diligently working on it,” she said.
In addition to searching for funds, realtors can assist homeowners with a market analysis. According to Martino-Basso, the analysis will determine a home’s value before flood damage occurred. This will help with recording damage information for future relief and assistance.
Martino-Basso encouraged homeowners to still call (435) 472-HELP (4357) for assistance with flood clean up.
Representatives from Nagel Realty, the Mike Metzger Team at Bridge Realty and Etzel Realty are also assisting in the relief efforts.
