Early on Wednesday morning, a bus driver called local authorities to report that they believed to have spotted a man standing on the corner of 100 North in Price near the Emery Telcom building, seemingly holding a rifle. Price City Police Captain Bill Barnes stated that, while it is not illegal to be holding a rifle, several officers responded to the area in an attempt to locate the male.
With a non-descript lead, it was difficult for the officers to make headway. To exercise an abundance of caution, nearby school Pinnacle Canyon Academy was asked to perform a brief of lockdown while an attempt was made to locate the alleged male. However, Captain Barnes stated that the precaution was lifted at 8:30 a.m. when nothing unusual took place.
The alleged male with the rifle was not located by local law enforcement and Captain Barnes stressed that they are unsure of how accurate a description the call was.
