The Carbon County Farm Bureau, in conjunction with the Carbon Junior Livestock 4H, presented the annual Farm Field Day on Wednesday morning. Local third grade students were given the opportunity to learn, from very knowledged hands and minds, the ins and outs of farming, livestock and all things related.
Animals that are staples to farm life such as cows, sheep, pigs and chicks were present at the field day to better help teach the children the lifestyle. Sheep shearing and cow milking were two demonstrations for the students, who also learned the many things that are created from beef and pork by-products, not just the food that is consumed.
The chicks served as a visual representation for eggs that are consumed and an array of different eggs laid were also on display.
