For several years now, Vietnam veteran Mike Lauffler has served as a volunteer driving veterans to their medical appointments multiple times a month. Lauffler provides this service to veterans throughout Carbon and Emery counties, helping those that would not have transportation otherwise.
Because of this constant effort, Lauffler was recently awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) Volunteer of the Year Award at the Salt Lake City VA.
On Monday, community members, family and friends were invited to congratulate Lauffler on his achievements at JB’s Restaurant in Price. While there, those in attendance had the chance to view Lauffler’s various awards and thank him for his dedicated service.
