Carbon School Board met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday evening. Although there was not too much on the agenda to discuss, there was something concerning that needed attention.

Carbon School District began their meeting with Business Administrator Darin Lancaster presenting the 2024-25 budget to school board members.

Lancaster discussed one of the biggest trends that the Carbon School Board is seeing, which is a significant decline in enrollment numbers. Lancaster explained that there was a recent increase in Utah’s Weighted Pupil Unit (WPU), however, due to the significant decrease in enrollment numbers throughout the elementary schools, they are still coming up shorter than they should.

Lancaster continued though the budget and board members motioned to approved changes made to the 2024 budget and motioned to adopt the 2025 budget.
