Lt. Governor Greg Bell has selected Cody Stewart to serve as his new Chief of Staff, beginning September 6. Paul Neuenschwander recently retired after having served as his Chief of Staff for the past two years.
“I’ve known and admired Cody for many years. I’m delighted to be able to work with him as I assist the Governor in implementing the Herbert/Bell four cornerstones: Education, Energy, Jobs and Self-Determination,” said Lt. Governor Greg Bell.
As chief of staff, Stewart will be responsible to oversee the daily operations of the Lieutenant Governor’s Office. Mr. Stewart will advise the Lieutenant Governor on policy issues and help promote the Administration’s initiatives on energy, public lands, and the ability of the State to solve its own problems. He will also serve as the Lieutenant Governor’s spokesperson.
“I am honored to join Lt. Governor Bell’s office. The Lt. Governor is a man of integrity and I am thankful for his confidence in me,” said Stewart. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with him and for the citizens of Utah.”
Stewart has broad experience in federal and state government, with a focus on western public lands, energy, and federalism issues. For the past decade Mr. Stewart has worked in a number of capacities in Washington, D.C., including the Executive Director of the Congressional Western Caucus and as the Legislative Director for Congressman Rob Bishop (UT-01).
Stewart was born and raised in Utah. He graduated from Utah State University with undergraduate degrees in both History and Political Science. Cody also earned an MBA and a M.A. in Government from John’s Hopkins University.
