Carbon School District made an announcement on Friday pertaining to the recent snow days and the effect they may possibly have on the last day of school for 2019.

The district had recently learned of a unique possibility in which a district may request a waiver for one day of the 190-school-day requirement. This waiver pertains to if school had to be cancelled due to weather conditions.

A letter was written by Carbon School District Superintendent Lance Hatch requesting that waiver and the district was pleased to announce that the waiver was granted. In short, the district stated, the second necessary snow day that took place in the recent weeks would not have to be made up.

With that having been said, the district then confirmed that the last day of school for Carbon County students will be Thursday, May 23.
