A fatal accident occurred on a residential street in Castle Dale on the afternoon of April 25 around 4:30 p.m..
According to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Joshua Cypert was making repairs to his motor home and had propped it up with a jack in order to access to undercarriage. Unfortunately, while working, the jack allegedly slipped, crushing the man underneath.
While investigations have been underway as to the exact cause, authorities are still unsure whether it was wind, a faulty jack or other factors.
Cypert was an over-the-road truck driver for some time before deciding to haul coal last year in order to spend more time with his wife and five children. Cypert was known for enjoying working on vehicles, volunteer firefighting and his motorcycle.
