USU Eastern men’s basketball activities have been put on indefinite suspension in light of an ongoing investigation into an alleged sexual assault that took place on USU Eastern’s campus last week.
Director of Public Relations and Marketing for USU Tim Vitale reported that USU Eastern’s campus police along with Price City Police are handling the investigation. He expressed that the regular basketball season does not begin until October and that the school is hoping to have a resolution in the case before then.
“We are taking the investigation very seriously,” Vitale said. “The investigation has brought some things to our attention that have caused us to look broadly at the basketball program. We are hoping the investigation moves forward quickly and offers some clarity to the issue sooner rather than later.”
ETV 10 News will report more information on this matter as it becomes available.
