During the last Carbon County Commission meeting for the year, newly crowned Miss Carbon County Aajah Breinholt was in attendance and stood in front of the commissioners to speak briefly.
Breinholt has been very busy lately fulfilling her duties as Miss Carbon County. She has been on the radio, hosted attention workshops, sang carols at the nursing home, and was in the Helper Light Parade, among others. Breinholt will also be working with the local Boys and Girls Club during her time as Miss Carbon County. She thanked the commissioners for always being a part of Miss Carbon County and contributing as generously as they do.
She then asked the commissioners if they would be willing to once again make a contribution to the Miss Carbon County fund. She explained what sections of the pageant are paid for by other entities and do not need to be covered, and subsequently what areas the commissioners would be contributing to specifically.
A specific amount that the commissioners will be donating was not decided at the meeting due to the budget for the 2016 year being decided at the end of the same meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Breinholt spoke on how important she believes it is to keep the event where the current Miss Carbon County takes the Little Miss Carbon County to the Capitol Theatre.
“I remember when I was Little Miss Carbon County and I remember going to the Capitol Theatre with my Miss Carbon County, and I think it’s a really good thing to keep doing,” Brienholt said.
