Castle Country native Robbie Mitchell kicked of the 2018 WORCS racing series with a win in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Mitchell sped out of the gate for the holeshot in Orleans Arena to take an early lead. Despite a battle with fellow racer Beau Baron, Mitchell held the lead from start to finish.
“It was another close battle with Beau Baron last night,” Mitchell shared. “I was able to get the holeshot and lead from start to finish. We came together a couple times which made for a great race.”
This race marked the first for Mitchell since he became a father to a baby girl nearly two months ago. His daughter and wife joined him at the race.
“I would like to thank my wife for supporting me and always believing in me,” Mitchell said. “And to all my sponsors for all the support they give me.”
Mitchell will take on round two of the series later this month as he and his family travel to Peoria, Ariz.
