Price native Robbie Mitchell cruised to two third place finishes in round seven of the WORCS Series at Straddleline ORV Park in Olympia, Wash. over the weekend.

“This has always been one of my favorite races because there is a fun motocross section, a more technical endurocross section and the offroad is all trees,” Mitchell explained. “The drive was long to get there, but the course was well worth it.”

On Saturday, Mitchell finished in third in the WORCS-X endurocross event. He competed in the short four-lap race on his practice bike in order to save his race bike for the following day.

“It was a points event, so everyone pretty much had to do it,” Mitchell explained. “I had my share of challenges going into it, though. My practice bike isn’t even close to being like my race bike, but I had to ride it to save the race bike for the next morning.”

After a rough start put Mitchell in dead last going around the first corner, several clean passes pulled him ahead for a third place finish.

Next up was the pro race for the quads on Sunday morning where Mitchell’s third place podium finish earned him 20 points and third place overall in points.

“When the green flag flew, I kicked my Lindsay Machine Racing engine to life immediately and pulled the biggest holeshot of the year,” Mitchell said.

Despite losing the lead after becoming stuck on a log and making a wrong turn, Mitchell was still able to finish third.

“All in all, it was a great weekend. I got two third place finishes and gained points over fourth place in the series. Now, I am sitting a solid third place in points,” he said. “Glen Helen is next and I can’t wait.”
