At approximately 11:48 p.m. on Jan. 23, a multi-car accident occurred in Price near 383 North 300 East.
Officers were dispatched to the scene where they received report that witnesses saw a male exit one of the vehicles and begin running south on 300 East toward Main Street.
A silver Volkswagen Jetta was southbound on 300 East when it drifted to the edge of the shoulder lane and struck a parked white Ford Ranger pickup that was subsequently forced into the back of a silver Dodge Durango that was also parked. There were no occupants inside of the parked vehicles at the time of the collision. Nobody was injured in this accident.
Officers learned the male that was witnessed fleeing the scene turned out to be the driver of the Jetta, who was going a speed greater than the posted speed limit. The driver was contacted and detained and failed a sobriety test. He was booked into the Carbon County Jail for DUI and leaving the scene of a accident.
