Nielson Construction paving crews returned to 9 Mile Canyon on Thursday, Sept. 11 and paved through Saturday.
Paving will continue Monday-Saturday for the next three weeks at which time the paving should be complete to the bottom of the canyon.
Currently the crews are working between mile posts 18 and 25. Excluding storms or any possible flooding, paving will be rapidly progressing down the canyon.
Additional crews will begin working through the next couple of weeks and will follow the paving operation placing shoulder gravel, delineators and signs. All shouldering, signs and cleanup work should be complete by the end of October.
There will be flagger operations controlling traffic during paving and any additional work areas.
Travelers should expect 30–45 minute delays each direction. Please watch for haul truck and any additional equipment while traveling the canyon.
