2018 Woman of the Year Laurel Johansen
At the yearly USU Eastern Women’s Conference that takes place in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center, one special lady in the community is always recognized as the Southeastern Utah Woman of the Year.
A call for nominations for the 2019 recipient was recently made. This year, the event is slated to take place on April 12 and individuals are asked to nominate a woman that has made significant contributions to her community.
The candidate’s achievements may be in volunteer service, peer recognition, their respective professional field, personal transition, support of other women and/or overcoming adversity. Nominations may be made by individuals or organizations and will be accepted until April 3. The nomination form must be filled out in is entirety.
Nominee’s information must be limited to two pages, typed and double spaced. The candidate’s name, address and telephone number as well as background information must be provided.
Background information consists of a brief explanation of why the candidate is being nominated for the Southeastern Utah Woman of the Year award. Include accomplishments, contributions to the community and what has made said nominee’s contributions significant. Any other information deemed prudent may be attached.
The information must also provide who submitted the nomination, their organization, address and telephone number.
