A rollover in Emery County claimed the life of an Orangeville resident, Friday afternoon.В 39 year-old Michael L. Ball was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on the Cleveland-Elmo road.

В

Deputy Kay Jensen (EMSD) reported, local authorities В were dispatched to the scene one mile south of Elmo at 4:39 Friday afternoon. Further investigation of the incident indicated that Ball’s truck went off the road and onto the shoulder for some unknown reason.

“When his vehicle ran off the road, the driver overcorrected and then went off the opposite side of the road and overcorrected once again, forcing the vehicle to roll,”В JensenВ explained.

Deputy Jensen estimated the truck rolled two times when Ball was ejected from the vehicle.

“From the evidence at the scene, it is possible he could still be alive if he had been wearing his seatbelt,” Jensen said.

The Sheriff’s Department are still awaiting В toxicology reports to В determine if drugs or alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the accident, at this time no indicators were found at the scene to implement they were.
