Carbon County Residents recently began circulating a petition to get a left turn lane at 5200 South Highway 10.
Residents that have been fighting for a turn lane 16 years believe it will help save lives.
Chelsi Johnson, a resident of 5200 South, said, “They are making it more dangerous for those living here by adding two lanes.”
Mrs. Johnson’s own sister-in-law has been involved in two accidents while trying to make the turn.
Residents contacted Commissioner Mike Milovich who agrees that it needs to be done.
Milovich is now waiting to hear back from UDOT on what it would cost and what their engineers think.
So far the petition has gained over four hundred signatures.
