Pinnacle Canyon Academy hosted its annual science fair last week. Students turned up with their best presentations on the scientific method. Each designed unique experiments for the judges and other attendees to enjoy.
Judges saw a variety of projects and interesting research. Students fifth through eighth competed in this fair. Pictured is Ashlyn Behunin with her winning project. She took first in the category of medicine and health. She also won the science fair overall when she tested whether the old wives’ tales about using baking soda to predict the gender of a pregnant woman’s unborn child as a reliable method. She found that it was no better a predictor than chance.
The gymnasium buzzed with all the presentations and discussions. Pinnacle students proudly displayed and explained their findings.
