After winning its first game of the season, Green River was looking to make it two in a row when they traveled to Monticello on Thursday night. The Pirates made it close in the first set, but the Buckaroos ended on top 25-23.
Once more, the second set was extremely competitive. Unfortunately, Green River could not fend off Monticello as the home team compiled a 25-21 win.
The back-to-back narrow defeats took the wind out of the Pirates’ sails, while the Buckaroos took advantage with a clean sweep in the third 25-12.
The Pirates (1-5, 1-1) only have one match this week, which will take place on Thursday in Montezuma Creek against Whitehorse (0-1, 0-0).
