On Friday evening, the Green River Pirates played against Milford’s Tigers in a game that went into overtime and ended with a win for the Pirates.
The Pirates led a close game with many lead changes. With a late foul, the Tigers went to the line for the opportunity to tie the game. Draining both free throws, the Tigers sent the game into overtime. Despite multiple turnovers for both teams, Green River managed to edge out the Tigers. An end-game foul sent the Pirates to the line to hit one of the two free throws, cinching the game in a 54-53 win.
Rad Hughes led the Pirates in the win with a game-high 20 points. Axel Anguiano and Dawson Anderson were both in double figures with 14 and 11, respectively. Trey Vetere chipped in eight in the win.
