Third District Republican Congressional nominee John Curtis greeted guests at a pregame tailgate party in Castle Dale on Friday evening. As he visited citizens and community leaders, he addressed their concerns.
Senator David Hinkins and Castle Dale Mayor Danny Van Wagoner were among the crowd and spoke to Curtis about their concerns for the area. Some of the topics discussed included land use issues, such as the Emery County Land Use Bill, economic development, services cities provide, health care and taxes.
Curtis spoke about the differences he is finding between rural and urban needs and services. He had been to Monticello and Blanding and spoke about the commonality of these areas with Emery County as compared to his responsibilities as mayor in Provo. His goal is to know the people and be ready to take their values to Washington D.C.
