The Utah State University – College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum celebrated its 50th birthday Friday.
The museum opened its doors free of admission for the day. The museum also had cake and ice cream for those lucky enough to visit around two o’clock.
Museum officials expressed excitement about the recent improvements at the facility. They have updated the Mammoth display by creating a swampy diorama and will soon add a Paleo-Indian hunter with an atlatl in a dynamic hunting pose.
Museum officials also plan to remount the Utah Raptor in a more dynamic pose. The Raptor will be the center of attention in the middle of the Museum entrance.
