Price City Declares State of Emergency Following Recent Flooding

A PROCLAMATION OF THE PRICE CITY COUNCIL DECLARING A LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, beginning on or about September 22, 2016, Price City, State of Utah, (herein “City”) has experienced severe rain storm flooding; and

WHEREAS, such flooding has caused serious damage to roads, bridges, culverts, homes, businesses, utilities, and other public and private facilities; and agricultural impacts; and

WHEREAS, emergency response operations continue throughout the City and are severely straining all responding agencies and the emergency operations plan is in effect; and

WHEREAS, the cost and magnitude of responding to and recovering from the impact of this event is far in excess of the City’s available resources; and

WHEREAS, these conditions do create a “State of Emergency” according to local and state statutes;

NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the City Council and Mayor of Price City that a local emergency situation exists within Price City due to the aforesaid rainstorm flooding and such flooded areas are declared to be a disaster requiring aid, assistance and relief available pursuant to the provisions of local and state statutes.
