KIKN Country 98.3 hosted a radio-thon Wednesday benefiting local charity Spencer’s Wishes.
The foundation, named for Spencer Roundy who passed away in 2000 after a six-year battle with brain cancer, runs with zero paid staff members and uses 100-percent of donation to help children in Carbon and Emery County.
Then 10-year-old Roundy made three wishes as part of a school project shortly before he passed away:
His first wish was to have a belly that wiggled and jiggled like Santa’s; second, he wished to help Santa deliver gifts to children; third, he wished to help Mrs. Claus sew clothes for the elves, Santa and children who needed them.
Spencer’s Wishes Foundation has been serving local children in Roundy’s name ever since.
