After suffering from a stoke nearly one month ago, Carbon Recreation Director and radio personality Frank Ori continues his road to recovery with the help of family, friends and community members as well as a team of doctors, nurses and physical therapists.
“From the moment that people found out about Frank’s circumstances they have been worried about him and our family and have tried to help in any area that they were able,” Frank’s wife Kristine shared. “I just truly want everyone to know how grateful I am for every kindness.”
While Frank has battled fevers and fatigue along with multiple tests and surgeries, therapy has been a main focus for his medical staff. Focus has also been directed to keeping Frank’s white blood count down and managing possible infections.
“I love his physical therapists who seem to want to see him get stronger as much as I do,” Kristine said. “He seems to be improving in several areas but he is still incredibly exhausted.”
Kristine and his loved ones provide periodic updates on Frank’s progress as part of a special Facebook group titled Carbon County Care for Frank. There, community members can stay connected with the Ori family and leave their thoughts for Frank.
Those wishing to show their support with a monetary donation can still do so. An account has been established at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union called “The Frank Ori Fundraiser,” and money can be donated there.
“There have been so many people that have worried about the financial situation that this might put us in,” Kristine shared. “There have been several people that have organized fundraisers and many that have taken part in those fundraisers and donated generously.”
Some of the many fundraisers were organized by local businesses, including TougHer, Big Don’s Pizza, Winger’s and many more. Support has also flooded in from individuals and families throughout the area.
“There have also been many kind words sent in cards with money accompanying them,” said Kristine. “I know it’s not always easy to give monetarily, especially this time of year and I am so grateful for the generosity that has been shown. I am truly humbled by everyone’s kindness. I haven’t had the opportunity to thank each person for doing these things for us but please know that we are so very thankful for everything that has been done for us.”
