The Rock Creek Fire, which has been burning approximately 15 miles east of East Carbon, has been listed as non-active by fire officials Monday. The blaze started June 13 and was caused by a lightning strike.

According to Utah Fire Information Official Jason Johnson, no crews are actively working the blaze.

“We haven’t seen any smoke coming from the area for a few days,” Johnson explained. “We will continue to monitor the area to ensure the fire doesn’t kick up again.”

Fire officials are looking into totals early this week. At last estimate, 235 acres were consumed by the lightning-caused blaze.
