Carbon County’s 10th annual Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 22 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Participants will start at the Carbon County Fairgrounds as the event aims to collect items for the local food bank.
“Our 10th Annual Turkey Trot to help us collect food for the local food bank,” event organizer’s shared. “The cost of participating is only one canned food item per participant. No pre-registration required, so come on up on race morning and enjoy a beautiful fun run/walk.”
The course will be laid out from the fairgrounds parking lot (located next to the ice rink) and will go to the base of Pinnacle Peak. This is an out-and-back race that spans four miles, but distance will be marked at every half mile and participants can turn around when they choose.
Running, walking or biking is allowed during the event. Four-legged friends are also invited to participate.
“If you bring your pet please make sure they are on their leash for the run,” said event organizers. “This is not a timed run, just a fun run to raise food for the food bank and prepare some room in our tummies for a big meal later that day.”
