On the heels of their annual journey to local nursing homes to spread Christmas cheer earlier in the week, the Sally Mauro Singers happily welcomed fellow classmates, teachers, family and friends to the school’s auditorium on Thursday morning for another performance of holiday hits.
While those that have been entertained by the singers before may have noticed that the members weren’t donning their usual sparkly vests, there was an explanation. In lieu of the vests, the students wore custom-made red t-shirts this year in order to not have to turn away any singers when they ran out of said vests.
The singers were comprised of students in Sally Mauro’s third, fourth and fifth grade classes. Many traditional and newer holidays tunes were belted out for the listening crowd. Certain songs, such as “Hear Those Bells,” saw a number of the students also showing their skills on the recorder.
