The SRJH football team beat cross-county rival CVJH 20-6 Wednesday in Ferron.
SRJH head coach Yory Allred said he was pleased with the teams effort and execution.
“[The players] just ran pretty much like I expected,” Allred said. “There was nothing overly great or bad. The just played well.”
“They did well,” Allred continued. “They were a little out of shape, but that’s how it goes in the first game. Everyone was a little nervous, but they did good.”
Allred was also excited about this year’s participation numbers.
Allred said the key to the game was “numbers: [our players] only played one direction and stayed fresh.”
The game was the first of the season for both teams.
