Jordan Scoggins scored a season-high 18 points for the Carbon Lady Dinos in a road game at Juan Diego Thursday night. Jerika Morgan and Lindsey Blanc each chipped in nine points but it wasn’t enough as the Soaring Eagles kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 61-49 win.
Juan Diego is the only unbeaten team in the 3A ranks at 13-0.
Carbon came out cold, only scoring five points in the opening quarter. Juan Diego raced to a 36-18 lead at the break. Carbon would go on to outscore Juan Diego the rest of the way, but it could never dig out from its first half hole. The loss snapped the Lady Dinos’ modest three-game winning streak.
Carbon (9-5, 0-0 Region 12) will travel to North Sanpete (10-3, 0-0 Region 12) to begin the Region 12 season on Tuesday. The Hawks have won five straight entering region action.
