Senior citizens gathered at Active Re-Entry on Friday morning for a conference.

The conference featured multiple workshops for seniors to attend. In the first workshop of the day, Active Re-Entry staff presented a workshop for music and memory. Seniors learned how to use personalized playlists of their favorite music to awaken memory in people suffering with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive and physical disabilities.

Bobby Etzel from Mitchell’s Funeral Home also presented a workshop. Etzel spoke about how to ease the hardship of funeral planning for families. Finally, those in attendance learned about Medicaid and Medicare as well as frequent senior frauds and scams.

The conference was provided to seniors at no cost by Active Re-Entry. Active Re-Entry is a community based program which assists individuals with disabilities to achieve or maintain self-sufficient, productive lives and live independently within their own communities.
