After a somewhat tumultuous year of transition, Wellington Elementary has a new principal. Seth Allred, who has served as principal at Sally Mauro Elementary since 2007 has transferred to Wellington.
Carbon County School District Human Resources Special Programs Director Robert Cox confirmed the move that was announced on the Wellington Elementary website. The school news post reads, “We welcome Seth Allred as the new principal of Wellington Elementary. Mr. Allred was the principal at Sally Mauro Elementary in Helper and is now ours! We are so excited!”
Cox explained that the move comes after two principals left the post at Wellington to take positions elsewhere.
Kelly Martinez left mid-year to take a job in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. Melissa Hamilton then took over after asking for a voluntary transfer from Bruin Point Elementary. Hamilton left to take a principal’s position in the Provo City School District during the summer, again leaving the position vacant.
Ryan Maughan, a special education teacher from Iron County School District, who recently received a second Master’s Degree in Administration, will replace Allred at Sally Mauro.
