Poor weather did not keep people from gathering at Culture Connection on Thursday evening. Those in attendance took the party indoors to enjoy music from Kristy Woodhouse and Sherrie Vlamakis.

Vlamakis has been singing locally for years, focusing on country tunes. In addition to performances at local events, she takes pride in assisting with Helper Idol and the annual Greek Festival.

After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Woodhouse has recently moved back to Carbon County. She delighted those in attendance with old, popular tunes.

Thursday’s event was sponsored by Jones and Demille Engineering. Other sponsors included Castleview Hospital, Carbon/Emery Telcom, Tony Basso Group, Price Mine Service, Loveless Ash, USU Eastern, R&A Market and Happiness Within.

Also at the event, a food drive was hosted for the Carbon County Food Bank. Those who attended were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate. According to Culture Connection organizer Kathy Hanna-Smith, food drives will be conducted at all remaining events excluding July 30, which is the Price City International Days Opening Ceremony.
