The Emery High Wrestling team traveled to Duchesne last Wednesday to compete in a two-day tournament.
Although the team didn’t win, they felt like they gave it their all. Brandon McCandless, a senior varsity team member said, “I enjoyed the tournament. I think the team needed a little more intensity, but overall I think we wrestled well.”
The varsity team members with wins included: Wyatt Oveson ,126 lbs.; Jared Shakespaere, 132 lbs.; Paden Wells 138 lbs.; Tyson Stout, 160 lbs. and Chet Funk, 170 lbs. Brett Sorenson, 182 lbs., won by forfeit.
The wrestling team will travel to Manti for a tournament on Friday and Saturday.
