Fall soccer and flag football registration deadline extended to September 4 at Carbon County Recreation:
Carbon County Recreation is currently taking registrations for the upcoming soccer and flag football seasons.
The fees for both programs is $20 or $32 with a jersey.
Soccer will be played on Monday and Wednesday.
Flag football will be played on Tuesday and Thursday.
Both programs will be held at the Fairgrounds Ball Field Complex.
Tennis Lessons and Leagues:
Fall tennis lessons will begin at 5 p.m. on Sept. 8. The fee is $20 per person for eight lessons. This program is for everyone six years and older. Groups will be split appropriately by age and ability. Lessons will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Fall Singles and Doubles leagues for middle and high school age students will begin on Sept. 10. The fee for this league is $15 for singles or doubles or $30 if you would like to participate in both. Leagues will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. beginning Sept. 10. This is not an instructional league. This league is intended for anyone who would like to have fun, improve their tennis skills and eventually play on the high school teams.
Lessons and Leagues will be held on the new tennis courts located on 300 east in Price.
Instructional Volleyball:
The registration deadline for instructional volleyball is Sept. 11. The fee is $30 and the early bird discount is $25 if paid by Sept. 11.
Play will be on Monday and Wednesday at Mont Harmon Middle School. Emphasis will be on skill development, fundamentals and sportsmanship.
Tumbling:
Tumbling will resume on Tuesday Sept. 9 at 3:30 p.m. The fee is $18 per month. You can begin anytime. This program is for all boys and girls age 3 and up.
Domestic Violence Awareness 5K Run/Walk October 4:
The fifth annual Domestic Violence Awareness 5K Run/Walk will be held on Oct. 4. Check in will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Price Peace Gardens. The race will begin at 9 a.m. The fee is $15 per person (includes an event t-shirt) or $25 per family (no t-shirts included.) T-shirts can be purchased for an additional $8 for adults and $5 for kids. T-Shirts must be pre-ordered by Oct. 1. Proceeds from this race will go to help victims of domestic violence. Donations can be made at the Carbon County Recreation Office.
Castle Country Century October 11:
The Castle Country Century is a grueling 100-mile bike ride originating at Scofield State Park at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11. The ride will take you up and over Huntington Canyon amidst the fall color change. You will then navigate through the towns of Cleveland and Elmo. From there, you will make your final accent into the town of Wellington and finally through Price, coming to rest at the USU Eastern Pre-Historic Museum. This ride includes dinner the night before the ride and some food and water along the way.
The fee is $40 and includes an event t-shirt and dinner on Oct. 10.
Registration deadline is Oct. 3.
