Press Release
According to Darren Olsen, District Ranger for the Manti-La Sal National Forest Ferron/Price Ranger District, the following wildlife gates are now open as of April 15: Hole Trail, Black Dragon, Rock Canyon, Lords Trail and Horn Mountain. The lowest Ferron Canyon gate (the Dugway gate) is also open so people are now able to get to Wrigley Reservoir and to Stevens Creek in Ferron Canyon.
Please by advised that there is still a lot of snow on the road on the switchbacks above Wrigley Reservoir until drivers near Flagstaff Peak – Muddy Creek Drainage on south side of Ferron Canyon. The Forest Service will continue to monitor Cottonwood Canyon and Millers Flat roads and will open the gates as soon as possible.
Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk would like to remind the public to respect the land, drive safely and obey the laws of staying on the roads and trails to minimize impact.
