The Soroptimist International of Price know that when women in a community are strong, the entire community benefits. With that in mind, they have been working on that model in the community for over 59 years.
For 41 of those years, the service organization has held their annual fundraising banquet. This year, well over 150 people from the Price area and beyond attended the annual event. Those in attendance were treated to a four course buffet that included roast beef, salmon, lamb chops and much more. The guest were also able to sample a wide variety of wine and hors’ de vours as they mingled.
Soroptimist International of Price uses all the event proceeds to provide projects and programs to women and girls in the community. Scholarships are awarded to women who are the head-of-household, so that they may continue their education. Also, a scholarship is awarded to a teen age 14-17, who engages in volunteer work in the community. The group has also assisted girls with financial difficulties with school activity participation. Drug court graduates have been given makeovers, foster children given stuffed duffel bags and many other services have been provided throughout the years.
