Press Release
The Southeastern Utah District Health Department is offering, at no cost, Freedom From Smoking classes. Many know people that smoke pose several risks to themselves and to others. Not only do they run a higher risk of medical problems due to their smoking, but their habits also affect those around them. This may be through the smell around the area in which they smoke or the unsightliness of cigarette butts.
Every year in the U.S., over 400,000 people die from tobacco-related disease, making it the leading cause of preventable death. Another 50,000 people die from exposure to secondhand smoke. Freedom From Smoking classes provide a group setting for adults to work through the quitting process. Southeastern Utah District Health Department is offering eight weeks of Freedom From Smoking classes for free.
