Emery’s wrestling team took part in the Juab Winter Classic over the weekend. The Spartans dueled against Monticello, Snow Canyon, North Summit and Blackfoot.
The Spartans split the duels with wins against Monticello (53-30) and Snow Canyon (47-27) and loses to North Summit (48-31) and Blackfoot (43-36).
Emery standouts included Bryar Meccariello, who went 4-0 with four pins at 152. His fastest pin was 44 seconds against Blackfoot. At 170, Hayes Dalton did not waste any time and went 3-0 with three pins. He had a 10-second pin against Blackfoot and an 18-second pin against North Summit.
Byron Christiansen also had a great performance in 120 with two pins and a 6-0 decision to go 3-0 in the duels. Dwain Farley went 3-1 in 126 with two pins and a technical fall (16-0). His only loss was against Blackfoot.
The Spartans will host Carbon on Wednesday at 6 p.m. That duel can be found live online at etvnews.com.
